UW's CBET offers activities for Entrepreneurship Week

WATERLOO, Ont. -- The Centre for Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology (CBET) at the University of Waterloo has designed a series of activities for Tuesday, Oct. 4 as part of Waterloo Region's second annual Entrepreneurship Week.

The theme of the series is "Turning Clark Kent Entrepreneurs into Super Sales People," said CBET spokesman Geoff Malleck.

The events will be held at the UW Davis Centre and feature a continental breakfast, starting at 7:30 a.m., with a keynote address by Greg Barratt, local business leader and member of the CBET Advisory Board. His topic is "The Entrepreneurship's Reliance on Savvy Selling."

Barratt will be followed by Kevin Hood at 9 a.m. for a three-hour workshop on "Mastering the Sales Process." This will provide important tools to succeed in this critical part of the entrepreneurial process, Malleck said.

At noon, CBET will host a brown bag lunch and feature a keynote address by Stephane Boisvert, President of Sun Microsystems Canada.

The public is welcome to attend, but seating for each event is limited. Please contact Lesley Curtis at CBET to reserve a place to any of the three events. She can be reached at lcurtis at uwaterloo.ca or by calling (519) 888-4567, ext. 7167.
