We're 30!

The 30th Anniversary Celebrations for the Patrick Power Library kicked-off this afternoon.

A large number of faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends of the University attended the Faculty Author Readings from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM in the main lobby of the Library.

This event marked the official launch of the Library's 30th Anniversary Celebrations. A number of other special events have been planned throughout the 2005-06 academic year – all of which will underscore the unique history of the Library.

This afternoon's guest speaker was John Feehan (Saint Mary's Alumnus), who shared his knowledge about the man for whom the Library is named, Patrick Power.

Other faculty authors who gave readings this afternoon included Dr. Albert Mills, Management Department, Dr. Brian Bartlett, English Department, Dr. John Reid, History Department, Dr. Alexandra Dobrowolsky, Political Science Department, and Dr. Charles Beaupre, Modern Languages and Classics Department.

Madeleine Lefebvre, University Librarian, was the Master of Ceremonies for today's special event.
