AULD, Stewart Edward

AULD, Stewart Edward - 65, passed away in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax, on September 20, 2006.

He worked at SMU for many years and the University community is mourning the loss of his passing. He was a hard worker and respected by everyone. He will truly be missed.

Born in Hamilton, he was a son of the late Edward and Mary (Stewart) Auld. He was predeceased by his brother, John (Toronto); sister, Susan (Brantford), and father-in-law, Ernest Langille (Halifax). He is survived by his beloved wife, Diane (Langille); brother Dallas (Linda), Kitchener, Ont.; son Sean (Kerri), Bedford; daughter, Shari, Dartmouth; grandson, Devon; mother-in-law, Jean Langille, Halifax; sister-in-law, Debbie Langille, Halifax, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Stew spent 23 years in the Canadian Armed Forces serving with the Royal Canadian Artillery, the Airborne Regiment and the Canadian Intelligence Corps, ending his military career teaching at the School of Intelligence in Borden, Ont.

After moving to Halifax with his family he worked at Halterm, Dalhousie University, retiring from Saint Mary's University as the manager of the Physical Plant. After retirement he enjoyed many hobbies including woodworking, gardening and fishing with his grandson. A wake will be held at the family home, 5574 Stoneham Court, Halifax, on Monday, September 25, from 2-6 p.m.

The family would like to offer their sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the VG Site, QEII, for their care and understanding. He will live in our hearts forever and will be deeply missed each and every day.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
