Memorial University and Honeywell to embark on energy saving project

Officials from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Honeywell will sign a $13.5-million energy performance contract during a news conference on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, at 2:30 p.m. The news conference will take place in the Royal Bank Atrium in the Faculty of Business Administration Building, located on Morrissey Drive on the St. John’s campus.
The contract will result in substantial financial savings for the university by reducing utility costs at various facilities on Memorial’s St. John’s campus. The retrofit program is fully guaranteed and funded through energy savings. Dr. Axel Meisen, president of Memorial University, and Joe Puishys (POOSH-US), president, Honeywell Building Solutions, will be attending this event.
Media representatives are invited to attend. Parking is available in Lots 22 and 16A.
