BRANDON, MB - Join us on Saturday, September 30, 2006 at the Brandon University Homecoming Weekend Alumni Banquet, where Dr. Kevin and Mrs. Els Kavanagh will receive the 2006 Brandon University Foundation Apex Award. The Apex Award is a recognition given annually to outstanding volunteer fundraisers for their work on behalf of the Foundation. The presentation will take place at the Brandon University Fall Homecoming Alumni Banquet, beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 30 in Brandon University's Main Dining Hall, and the ceremony will also feature another, very special announcement in honour of the Kavanaghs. Dr. Kevin and Mrs. Els Kavanagh are the Honorary Campaign Chairs of Brandon University's BU & You Campaign—the University's most comprehensive and successful fundraising initiative to date. Both have been active in the life of Brandon University for many years, with Kevin serving as Chancellor from 1996 to 2002 and thereafter receiving the appointment of Chancellor Emeritus for meritorious service rendered. Both Kevin and Els have been tireless supporters and advocates for Brandon University, and have dedicated countless volunteer hours in support of post-secondary education in Manitoba.
