BRANDON, MB - Brandon University Learning Skills announces its fall schedule of workshops: Learning Skills resources provides assistance with topics such as time management, organization, taking lecture notes, reading textbooks effectively, exam preparation, critical thinking, problem solving and enhancing memory. In short, we help you to learn how to learn, and so be a better student. Learning Skills instruction is available one-to-one by calling 727-9769 to set up an appointment that fits your schedule. In addition, workshops on specific topics are offered every semester. All students are welcome to attend any session, and there is no need to confirm your attendance. The following workshops are running in September 2005: 1. Time Management "How can I do all this and still have a life?!" Wednesday, September 14 10:30 - 12 or Thursday, September 15 10:10 - 11 Location: Room 103, McKenzie 2. Reading with a Purpose How to Prepare BEFORE Lectures Tuesday, September 20, 12:40 - 1:30 or Wednesday, September 21, 1:30 - 2:30 Location: Room 103, McKenzie 3. Taking Better Lecture Notes Wednesday, September 28, 10:30 - 12 or Friday, September 30, 9:30 - 10:30 Location: Room 103, McKenzie Each workshop topic is repeated for greater availability. Students need attend only one workshop on each topic. These workshops are open to all students at no charge. All workshops are in Room 103 A.E.
