Experimental Psychology Research Areas and Disciplines
A lot of experimental psychological research is in psychometrics. This is the measurement of knowledge, abilities, attitudes, and personality traits. Researchers are developing more effective measurement methods such as improving questionnaires, tests, computer models, software for statistical procedures, and personality assessments. These methods are being used for a variety of psychological research into areas such as motivation, thought, attention, learning and memory, sensory and perceptual processes, effects of substance abuse, and genetic and neurological factors affecting behavior.
