Interdisciplinary Studies Topics and Concepts in Canadian Universities
What do Interdisciplinary Studies Students Learn? There are now dozens of interdisciplinary programs offered at universities throughout Canada, some of which, such as women’s studies, labour studies, and globalization studies, have become commonly offered on university campuses and are described on other pages on this site. In the fine arts, interdisciplinary degrees seek to produce well-rounded students who are comfortable combining a variety of media to express themselves artistically. Students interested in interdisciplinary studies may choose between directed programs such as these, or may design a completely individualized program that reflects their own learning goals. The particular subject matter of an interdisciplinary degree is less important than the fact that all students develop innovative techniques and analytical skills that help restructure traditional disciplines and modes of thinking.
