Public Administration Topics and Concepts in Canadian Universities
What do Public Administration Students Learn? The courses for this professional degree draw largely from the fields of management, business administration, economics and political science, although some universities offer graduate degrees in conjunction with studies in law or library science, and a couple of institutions are offering programs that address the issues faced by First Nations peoples. Students learn about the inner workings of administration at the municipal, provincial, and federal levels of government, taking courses in public finance, budgeting, public policy, economics, the law, and industrial relations. Many programs include internships or field placements at some point.
