Prerequisites for Graduate Studies in Transportation Engineering
Admission to a graduate-level program in transportation engineering requires a previous degree in a related discipline (eg. engineering, civil engineering) with a minimum B+ average. Some schools also require some form of advanced experience in a related environment (eg. co-op, directed studies, industry work experience, etc).
Admission to a PhD program can either be directly from an undergraduate degree (in exceptional circumstances, requiring excellent marks and an aptitude for research), or after acquiring a relevant Master's-level degree.
As all graduate programs require a supervisor, most schools require this person to be approved prior to final admission.
