We support adults with disabilities and the elderly with a number of programs and supportive housing sites in Mississauga, Burlington, Hamilton and Stoney Creek. With over 1,700 clients a year, our mission is to provide a spectrum of integrated services to support and care for individuals to live as independently as possible.

What services does your organization provide?
Personal attendant services, homemaking, supportive housing, caregiver relief, respite care, occupational therapy and transportation.


Do you have any age requirements?
16 years of age


Do you require language proficiency other than in English?
Arabic speaking volunteers are needed for our Mississauga site.


What time commitment(s) are you expecting from a volunteer?
Once a week or bimonthly for 2-3 hours at a time.


Are there any other requirements for being a volunteer?
Vulnerable Sector Screening Clearance is required.


Are there any specific skills and experience required?
Will train volunteers on assisting clients using wheelchairs or walkers. \r\nNeed patience and kindness.


What type of volunteer positions are typically available?
Volunteer one to one with clients with recreational activities (crafts or sports or music)or activities of daily living (shopping, cooking and baking).


Do you provide training for volunteers?
Training on assisting clients using wheelchairs or assisting clients that have visual impairment is provided.


What are the typical volunteer activities occurring at your organization?
Knitting, arts & crafts, playing pool, piano or guitar music.

Can experience working with a special population if applying for physiotherapy or occupational therapy or social work programs.
