What services does your organization provide?
Our role also includes providing the following unique services to Canadians:

Operating the OneMatch Stem Cell and Marrow Network
Building and operating Canada's national public umbilical cord blood bank
Leading national practices, professional education, public awareness and system performance activities for organ and tissue donation and transplantation
Managing national patient registries for organ donation and transplantation
Bulk purchasing of pharmaceutical plasma protein products
Providing diagnostic laboratory testing services in some provinces
Conducting leading-edge research and advancing practice in transfusion and transplantation medicine nationally and internationally

17 years old (16 or younger with parental consent)


Do you require language proficiency other than in English?
No


What time commitment(s) are you expecting from a volunteer?
At least 2 four hour shifts per month

What type of volunteer positions are typically available?
In Community Volunteering - attending events to promote blood donation and recruit new donors.
In Clinic Volunteering - serving donors refreshments post donation, monitoring for adverse reactions and providing excellent customer service.
Leadership Volunteers - recruiting, scheduling, training and managing a group of volunteers to perform both volunteer roles.


Do you provide training for volunteers?
Yes - each volunteer role is provided with online training in addition to at least one hands on shift with another volunteer or staff member.
