Canadian Blood Services is a not-for-profit charitable organization that manages the blood supply in all provinces and territories outside of Quebec. Annually, Canadian Blood Services collects over 900,000 whole blood donations and delivers products to more than 700 hospital customers with every donation going on to save lives. We currently have one permanent site located in Victoria and various mobile clinics located throughout the Greater Victoria Area.

We are a national blood service. The following are the services we offered: Apheresis program Partners for Life Young Blood For Life Life Bus Program Donor Milestones and Recognition In Honour Program OneMatch Stem Cell and Marrow Network Organ & Tissue National Registry


Do you require language proficiency other than in English?
must speak English


What time commitment(s) are you expecting from a volunteer?
Minimum once a week for 3 hours. the time varies depending on our clinic hours and special events hours.


What type of volunteer positions are typically available?
In Community Volunteer Public Awareness In Clinic volunteer ABO Typer


Do you provide training for volunteers?
The Volunteer Coordinator will provide 4 hours training to all volunteers.


What are the typical volunteer activities occurring at your organization?
Volunteering at our permanent clinic, Special Events, What's your Type events


How will a person benefit from volunteering with Canadian Blood Services?
they will gain different experience like customer service, event planning, gain experience if they desired to work in a lab. And the most important benefit is volunteers help us to save people's lives.


Do you accept high school students?
yes we do accept high school students . we also accept retired people and people who are working but have at least 3 hours a week to volunteer.
