What services does your organization provide?
We do awareness sessions at different locations, peer counseling for the newly diagnosed and raise funds for reseach.


Do you have any age requirements?
16 years old


Do you require language proficiency other than in English?
French is an asset but not required.


What time commitment(s) are you expecting from a volunteer?
Most activities would be from 1 to 2 hours a month.


Are there any other requirements for being a volunteer?
No there are no other requirements.


Are there any specific skills and experience required?
No specific skills or experience required.


What type of volunteer positions are typically available?
Helping set up computer and projector at peer counseling meetings and genral meetings.
Helping with the organizing of the annual walkathon, helping in the kitchen at general meeting as there is always food.


Is there any training provided for volunteers?
There is no formal training for volunteers but we will make sure they understand what needs to be done.


What are the typical volunteer activities occurring at your organization?
We have a pancake breakfast in February, a walkathon in June and May is Celiac awareness month so we have our display at hospitals and the mall.


How will a person benefit from volunteering with Canadian Celiac Association Manitoba Chapter?
People will learn about Celiac Disease and the challenges of adhering to a gluten-free diet.


Do you accept high school students?
Yes we do but it would depend on the time of year. For example there is not much activity over the summer.
