What services does your organization provide?
CMHA Niagara provides trained staff at St. Catharines General, Greater Niagara General, Welland General and Douglas Memorial hospitals for people in crisis and distress.
We also have a Safebed facility, provide Moderate and Intensive Case Management, Court Support, Residential Support, Employment Services and Counselling


Do you have any age requirements?
18 years old


What time commitment(s) are you expecting from a volunteer?
Volunteers are expected to commit to one year at least.


Are there any specific skills and experience required?
Experience / Knowledge of the social service field is an asset, but it is not a requirement.


What type of volunteer positions are typically available?

  • Volunteer Programs Partnering Up
  • Volunteers support a selected partner to integrate into the community through leisure, social or recreational activities.
  • Warm Line - Trained Volunteers offer social interaction and friendship by telephone to those who are socially isolated, have limited support or have difficulty reach out.
  • Speakers Bureau - Trained volunteers share their personal stories to advocate for and provide awareness of mental health issues.
  • Other Opportunities
  • Fundraising, Bingos (St.Catharines, Niagara Falls, Fort Erie), Committees, Office Support, and Program Support.
