Volunteer Information for Edmonton Meals on Wheels

What services does your organization provide?
Edmonton Meals on Wheels provides hot and frozen meals to homebound residents. They also deliver groceries, personal shop, and cater events.


Do you have any age requirements?
To volunteer in the kitchen, volunteers must be 16 years of age or accompanied by an adult. Must also be willing to submit to criminal records check.

To delivery meals, volunteers must be 18 years of age or older, carry a valid driver's license, and have access to their own vehicle. A driver's abstract and criminal records check are also required.


Do you require language proficiency other than in English?
No.


What time commitment(s) are you expecting from a volunteer?
Flexible time commitment; biweekly, monthly, or even occasional volunteer opportunities.


Are there any other requirements for being a volunteer?
Positive attitude, willingness to work in both a team and individual setting.


Are there any specific skills and experience required?
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift up to 20lbs.
