What services does your organization provide? Himalaya Foudation has been operating an Orhanage in Panchkula (Chandigarh), 150 miles north o Delhi. We have 10-16 female children at the orphanage.It is staffed with a cook ad a house mother.
Do you have any age requirements? Minimum age is 21
Do you require language proficiency other than in English? No.
What time commitment(s) are you expecting from a volunteer? Teach English lanuage. Art & Craft. Interact with children in area of Education and recreation.
Are there any other requirements for being a volunteer? Ability to appreciate, understand and adjust to foreign culture.
Are there any specific skills and experience required? Minimum 6 weeks Maximum 8 weeks
What type of volunteer positions are typically available? 1-2 volunteers at one time. Positions are open all year
Is there any training provided for volunteers? No training is provided.
What are the typical volunteer activities occurring at your organization? We have had volunteers who spend most of their time with the children and help them with education and recreation.
