Volunteer Information for JVS Toronto

What services does your organization provide?
JVS Toronto provides employment services to youth at risk, newcomers, women, persons with disabilities, unemployed and underemployed persons. We also provide vocational assessments, career counselling and psychological assessements.


Do you have any age requirements?

Do you require language proficiency other than in English?
Normally we look for volunteeers at the high school level and up.


What time commitment(s) are you expecting from a volunteer?
3 hours a week for a minimum of 3 months


Are there any other requirements for being a volunteer?
Some positions require a vulnerable police screening


Are there any specific skills and experience required?
Skills and experience vary depending on the volunteer role


What type of volunteer positions are typically available?
Administrative, governance, mentoring, direct service with clients


Is there any training provided for volunteers?
Volunteers must attend an orientation session and then receive one on one training by the staff person they are working with


Do you accept high school students?
Yes, depending on their availability as we are not open in the evenings and on weekends
