Volunteer Information for Kelowna and District Safety Council Society

What services does your organization provide?
We educate the public about a variety of safety issues and cooperate with other like-minded organizations in an effort to reduce accidents and injuries.
Services we provide include:

  • Driving lessons
  • Defensive Driving
  • Motor cycle training
  • Children's safety education
  • Baby sitter training
  • Bicycle safety
  • Learn to swim programs


Do you have any age requirements?
Must be at least 19 years old.


Do you require language proficiency other than in English?
No


What time commitment(s) are you expecting from a volunteer?
Volunteers should choose at least 1 shift. Our shifts are 4 hours. Either 9am-1pm or 1pm-5pm. We have shifts everyday from March 16th-June 16th.


Are there any specific skills and experience required?
There are no specific skills, you just have to be enthusiastic and friendly.


What type of volunteer positions are typically available?
We need people to man our raffle booths at locations around Kelowna.


Do you provide training for volunteers?
No training required


What are the typical volunteer activities occurring at your organization?
Talking to the public and informing them about our programs and selling tickets for our Harley Davidson raffle.


How will a person benefit from volunteering with Kelowna and District Safety Council Society?
They will make connections with an upstanding NPO in Kelowna, increase their confidence and network with the public and help raise funds for the safety of children.
