The Oakville Arts Council

Freedom Valley Horse Rescue
983 Old Mill Rd, RR #3, Omemee, Ontario

Hi, welcome to the Freedom Valley Horse Rescue website. I am Christine my husband is Howie, we started this site to show you the horses that we have rescued and are looking for loving homes for, and to share our successes. The disturbing part of what we have to share with you is that it is estimated that over 100,000 Canadian horses and approximately the same number of horses brought in from the U.S. will be slaughtered for overseas consumers in 2008. Not all of these horses are old, lame or unmanageable. It is surprising the number of beautiful well handled horses that are purchased by meat buyers, their previous owners completely unaware that their beloved friend could possibly end up going to a place like that.
