Volunteer Information for Theatre Passe Muraille

Do you have any age requirements?
Volunteers should be at least 16 years of age.


What time commitment(s) are you expecting from a volunteer?
We expect volunteers to show up a half an hour before the performance at which they are volunteers, in order to help set up the space and speak with the House Manager. After the performance, we expect them to stay for fifteen minutes to help House Managers clean up the house.


Are there any specific skills and experience required?
Should be comfortable speaking with people


What type of volunteer positions are typically available?
We look for volunteer Ushers mostly, but also need help with larger mailouts which happen about twice a year.


Is there any training provided for volunteers?
Yes, at the beginning of your first shift, our House Manager will take you through safety measures and procedures in case of emergency. The conversation should take a total of 15 minutes.


What are the typical volunteer activities occurring at your organization?
Ushers are asked to take tickets at the door prior to a performance. During the performance, they watch the show for free, and afterwards, help the House Manager clean up the theatre. At the end of each theatre season (in May), we have a Volunteer Party for all our volunteers, to thank them for their hard work.
