What services does your organization provide?
Food for those in need with low incomes.


Do you have any age requirements?
Open to those who are out of high school and no upper age limit. Polite, cheerful and willing to work. Especially seeking someone to pick up from suppliers. Those currently receiving food from a food bank are ineligible.


Do you require language proficiency other than in English?
Not at this time but knowledge of other languages is always an asset.


What time commitment(s) are you expecting from a volunteer?
Minimum of 3 hours per month.


Are there any other requirements for being a volunteer?
As outlined above.


Are there any specific skills and experience required?
Several different types of tasks using a few different skills. A good back is desirable but not entirely necessary.


What type of volunteer positions are typically available?
Packing, Weighing, Interviewing, Purchasing and picking up supplies with a truck from suppliers.


Is there any training provided for volunteers?
Yes. Familiarization of where different foods are stored and on the job training.


What are the typical volunteer activities occurring at your organization?
Same answer as under what type of positions are available.


How will a person benefit from volunteering with Twelve Baskets Food Bank?
A sense of helping the vulnerable and giving back to community. Organization skills can be learned as well as how to deal with the public respectfully. How to work with others.


Do you accept high school students?
Only if they are from a neighbouring community so that they are unlikely to know the families coming to the food bank. High school students even from the community are welcome to come in on Wednesday mornings and help then.
