Helsinki Polytechnic Stadia was officially opened on January 1, 1999, by including four new institutions to it, with the last two additions being made in August, 2000. At present, the Polytechnic offers 40 bachelorís as well as masterís degree programs. There are around 16 campuses spread across the city.
In addition to the full time courses, Helsinki Polytechnic Stadia offers short courses and evening classes in combination with open polytechnic and customized teaching. Students can pursue studies in Social Services, Nursing, Information Technology, and Industrial Management. They are taught in English. The other degree programs have Finnish medium of teaching.
Helsinki Polytechnic Stadia believes in learning through creative and investigative process that leads to the widening of perspectives. It encourages controlled process in association with labor market. The Polytechnic carries out research and development work that results in renewal and international education.
Apart from its degree programs, Helsinki Polytechnic Stadia offers consultation services as well as ground-breaking research & development work. It is also involved in active interaction with the labor market in order to foresee future requirements for better placements of its students. This is because the Polytechnic believes in the important role of labor market in education.
