Institution Profile

Based in Satakunta in Finland, the Satakunta University of Applied Sciences has the distinction of being the one of the largest universities of applied science in Finland. The university has three main concerns, namely Education, Research and Development and Regional Development. The university aims to maintain an international standard of academics while catering to the unique industrial needs of the local community.

There are three main faculties at the Satakunta University of Applied Sciences- Business, Tourism and Culture, Social Services, Healthcare and Technology and Maritime Management. There are currently 22 degree programs available with programs in Physiotherapy and International Business and Marketing Logistics provided in English mediums. Five master's degree programs are also available. The university also encourages the use of the Finnish language and Finnish language courses are offered to both exchange students and degree students.

The Satakunta University of Applied Sciences also has a continuing education center which offers specialization studies, university open studies programs, short courses and educational projects. The university assigns each student a tutor and students from other countries are given an orientation program to get acquainted with the university and Finland. The university is currently involved in a number of projects in the fields of logistics, automation and health promotion. A number of international partnerships and collaborations are also in place in Europe, North America and Asia. A career cervices cell is also available to help students plan their career strategies and look for employment.
