VAMK University of Applied Sciences or the Vaasan ammattikorkeakoulu University of Applied Sciences was established in the year 1996. The institution offers various undergraduate and graduate degree programs that follow an international curriculum and are offered multilingual. The institution designed its academic programs based on the growing needs of the local industries, the community and the students. The institution is an active participant in various student exchange programs, with several leading educational institutions across the world.

It is part of the Vaasa Consortium of Higher Education, which comprises of co-operative agreement between the various universities in Vaasa.
