The Norwegian Academy of Music offers high quality courses on music. It is one of the most renowned colleges in the Norwegian world of music. Since its inception, the college has provided a launch pad for various well-known musicians of Norway. The college caters to about 475 students. It offers a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. You are awarded a Norwegian academic Bachelor degree after you successfully complete the four-year program at the university level. You must be proficient in Norwegian in order to follow the classes. To enrol for their postgraduate programs, you must complete the undergraduate course offered by the institute or a corresponding programme.
The Norwegian Academy of Music was set up in 1973 prior to which higher education courses in applied music were offered by private music conservatories - the most popular being the Music Conservatory of Oslo which was established and managed by the Lindeman family.
The Norwegian Academy of Music is an associate of a network of European music academies in the scaffold of the SOCRATES programme. The college encourages student and teacher exchange programs with various Nordic music conservatories within the network of NORDPLUS. The college has various bilateral links with other music college. Many well known musicians have undergone training in the college and some of them have even become teachers in the same college.
