Volda University College was established as a teachers’ training college in 1895. Today it boasts of more than 3000 student population and 150 academic staff. It has four faculties and offers five Master’s programs. Students can choose from more than thirty undergraduates programs and 300 study courses that are presently offered at the college.
Volda University College is located in Volda, which is on the northwest coast of Norway. The college campus is located in beautiful surroundings. The buildings on the campus are closely located. All the school buildings are within five minutes walking distance. The college also boasts of highly qualified academic staff. With a small student population, students can look forward to close academic interactions with the academic staff.
The college has four faculties- Faculty of Education and Humanities, Faculty of Social Sciences and History, Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts, and Faculty of Media and Journalism. Its broadcast journalism, documentary film production, and animation study programs are well known in Norway and abroad.
The largest faculty at the Volda University College is the Faculty of Humanities and Education. Study programs offered by this faculty enable students to qualify for work in pre-schools, primary, and junior schools. Study programs are also offered in the fields of literature and language. The faculty offers both bachelors and master degree programs.
The faculty of Media and Journalism at the Volda University College is quite popular. It offers bachelor degree programs in media journalism, animation, and information.
