Institution Profile

The Blekinge Institute of Technology constitutes of five main schools, out of which the School of Engineering is the largest one. The teaching and research faculties in this school come from more than fifteen nations. The master’s program is the main attraction of this school, as the medium of the instruction of these programs is English.

The students studying in the Blekinge Institute of Technology come from Sweden as well as from several other countries from around the globe. At present, the student community in the School of Engineering represents at least 45 different nations, including Sweden. Some of these students are exchange students while most of the others are free movers from various parts of the world.

The School of Engineering in the Blekinge Institute of Technology offers a wide range of courses in engineering and technology. At present, there are over five thousand students enrolled in the institute’s various engineering course programs. The university focuses on engineering, research, and education within the areas of electrical engineering and computer science with an emphasis on software engineering and mechanical engineering, mathematics and science, informatics, human work science, telecommunication and signal processing.

The Blekinge Institute of Technology also offers an array of engineering courses through its internet-based education system. The number of such online course programs in various subject areas of engineering is increasing day by day. There are over two hundred teachers as academic staff in the School of Engineering.
