Institution Profile

The Mid Sweden University opened its doors in 1993, and is based in Sweden. The university has four main campuses at Västernorrland, Jämtland, Sundsvall and Örnsköldsvik. The university also takes efforts to maintain close ties with all aspects of development in the region, from commerce and industry to government agencies. One of the objectives of the university is to strengthen the renewal and differentiation of industry in the local region. As a result, most of the courses are designed with this focus in mind.

The Mid Sweden University has undergraduate, postgraduate, and research study options available. Students can choose from fields like human sciences, science, technology & media and educational sciences. In total, the university offers 650 independent courses, with 50 programs of study and 30 master degree courses. The university is also open to exchange students and free movers and there are currently 15000 students enrolled.

Introduction days are held at regular intervals at Mid Sweden University, during which, prospective students can learn more about the institution. The university also provides a range of special student services, such as free and confidential counseling as well as the services of a nurse, who is on campus. A number of leisure activities are also available to students like skiing, the use of a swimming pool, a cross country track and a number of team sports. A number of student unions are available to help students with any academic and social issues they might have.
