Sky Wings Aviation Academy is based in the province of Alberta and was established in 1982. It currently operates out of the Red Deer Regional Airport with an additional office in Okotoks. The academy has a number of firsts to its name, offering the first privately-funded Aviation Diploma Program in the country as well as the first Aviation Space Camp which is recognized by the Boards of Education across the country.
Due to the location of the Sky Wings Aviation Academy, it is in the unique position of being able to offer students the opportunity to train in all kinds of flying conditions. The academy's training records have also been approved by Electronic Trans Canada.
Sky Wings Aviation Academy offers a range of flying courses to suit the needs of all students, whether they are first time flyers, looking to build a career in aviation or are looking to upgrade their skills. The academy currently offers courses for recreational, private and commercial pilot training as well as a diploma in aviation. A range of endorsement courses are also available for subjects such as night endorsement, night flying, multi-engine and single engine ratings as well as instructor ratings. The academy also offers a course called Aviation Space Kamp which teaches teenagers about aviation and space flight. Courses at Sky Wings Aviation Academy are also open to students from the international community and financial assistance and accommodation are available to students.
