Bethany Bible College located in Sussex; New Brunswick, Canada is highly focused on providing religious education to students who want to commit their lives in the service of the Lord. Founded in October 1945, the institution started off as a Bible school to train church ministers. Apart from preparing leaders for shepherding its own community in Canada, the college aims to send out its students to other cultures in spreading the word of God. Often students are sent to foreign countries for their internships where they spend time in understanding the culture of the local church and work toward its enrichment. The college offers a number of degree options including Bachelor of Theology, Bachelor of Arts in Christian Education and Bachelor of Arts in Christian School Education. It also offers Bachelor of Arts in Religion Certificate in Extreme Discipleship, which is a 1-year program for people who are working professionals in other fields but want to grow closer to Jesus in their personal life. Once you choose the degree you have an option of taking a major or a minor program in the areas of Children's Ministry, Christian Counseling, Christian Education, Church Planting, Global Ministry, Music Ministry, Pastoral Ministry and Youth Ministry. Bethany Bible College is planning to start a distance education program, which is expected to be available online by 2008. Bethany Bible College also has leadership and mentoring programs for those who are already mature in their walk with the Lord and have the ability to lead others. There are two such scholarship based programs called Presidential Leadership Corps and Pinnacle Scholars Program. Other leadership oriented courses include Discipleship Group Leaders Program.
