Overview

BC Public Service Ministry of Health Victoria Executive Director, Capital Services Salary up to $116,466.00 annually This is a temporary appointment for 1 year, which may become permanent. The Finance and Corporate Services Division supports the Ministry Executive and programs and health authorities by managing and ensuring a consistent approach to financial and corporate issues. The Capital Services Branch provides leadership within the ministry and to health authorities to find cost-effective solutions and to apply best practices in strategic planning, financing, and managing health capital infrastructure on behalf of British Columbians. The Executive Director provides strategic leadership and vision within the ministry and to health authorities in the management of health capital infrastructure. The Executive Director provides expert analysis and advice with respect to long-term capital plans, annual capital budget submissions and other related health-infrastructure issues. The Executive Director leads the evaluation and oversight of significant and diverse health authority capital projects and makes recommendations with respect to health authorities' overall capital plans and specific project approvals. The position of Executive Director is key to identifying and responding to emerging capital-related issues and encouraging best practices in capital planning and management in the health sector. Experience and Qualifications

  • University degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Engineering, Urban Planning or Architecture or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10 years demonstrated related project management experience including coordinating resources/project team members.
  • 15 years experience managing professional staff, large budgets and capital projects.
  • 10 years experience at guiding major capital projects from concept plan to completion, including projects procured as public/private partnerships.
  • 10 years experience in developing and managing capital plans.
  • Experience developing and maintaining effective working relationships with stakeholder groups in contentious and sensitive situations.
