Overview Work Smarts is a subsidized work placement program under the Career Focus program by the Government of Canada's Youth Employment Strategy (YES). This position qualifies for the program. Work Smarts offers employers wage subsidies for hiring new graduates of college or university programs who have not worked in their chosen field. Responsibilities Duties will include:
Providing supervision and ongoing training to caregivers.
Liaising with other community resources/agencies to provide best possible care for clients
Completing client intake assessments and creating reports.
Ongoing case management with monthly calls and regular client visits to assess health and wellbeing of clients.
Completing evaluations for caregivers on a 3 month and yearly basis in cooperation with the management team.
Learning and utilizing HomeTrak (client and caregiver management software) in order to effectively manage clients and caregivers.
Liaising with the scheduling co-coordinator to provide best possible care for clients and best possible employment opportunities for staff.
Participating in community health events, fairs and promotional events to showcase health care and position Careforce as involved in the community.
Hiring and orientation of new staff.
Working within the full scope of practice in accordance with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia

Experience and Qualifications Registered Nurse-Province of Nova Scotia.
Strong clinical, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated abilities in problem solving, decision making, group process, and directing and supervising others.
Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently.
Demonstrated ability to work as a member of the interdisciplinary team Other Requirements This position is being funded under the Career Focus program by the Government of Canada's Youth Employment Strategy (YES). To be eligible for the program you must:
be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada;
be between 19 and 30 years of age;
be a graduate of a college or university program;
be unemployed or underemployed;
have not previously participated in a Career Focus project funded under the Government of Canada's Youth Employment Strategy (YES);
be available for a minimum of 30 weeks
You must participate in at least five days of paid skill development training and submit regular progress reports during your work term to Saint Mary's University.
