  • Responsibilities

    Senior Internship As a senior intern you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the educational opportunities and activities on the farm. Though this is primarily focused on the internship program, there are also opportunities to extend educational programming to our 250 member CSA, other organizations on the property, and the public. You will also be provided with a modest professional development budget with you can use to further your own educational pursuits. You will also have the opportunity to support other components of the farm, including harvest logistics & produce sales, field crops, perennials, community garden plots, and volunteer coordination. Requirements: Proven organizational and planning skills and one year experience on a farm. Novice Internship Novice internships are designed to give the intern a wide exposure to sustainable food systems. You can expect to be involved in: greenhouse management, seedling production, bed preparation, tractor work, weeding, transplanting, harvesting, overseeing CSA distribution at pick-ups, planning events, participating in educational activities structured around intern learning objectives and learning how to cook with the food we grow. Timelines The team generally works 6-5:30 pm, with a mid morning break and 1.5 hr lunch. A rotation of seasonal duties may require longer hours or occasional weekend duties. Timelines for internships are as follows: Summer Novice : Apr 29 to Aug 30 Full Season Novice: Apr 29 to Nov 8 Senior : March 4 to Nov 29


    Experience and Qualifications

    The successful candidate: - will be ready to learn, receive instruction and follow directions and established farm procedures - will have creative and constructive input at appropriate times - will own farm tasks sometimes considered to be mundane and thrive on every job well done - will work safely, responsibly, and respectfully - will remain positive and contribute to a cooperative work environment - will enjoy physical challenges in various weather conditions, from April showers through July heat and frosty October.
