Overview

St. Andrew's, a multi-cultural and multi-generational Presbyterian church in Etobicoke, is looking for a full time DIRECTOR OF FAMILY MINISTRY. This person will direct and oversee all children's, youth, and young adult ministries at St. Andrew's (0-30 years) and related Family Ministry.


Responsibilities

Key areas of responsibility

  • Develop the vision and growth for all aspects of Family Ministry at St. Andrew's, which currently includes: o Sunday ministry to children (Club St A's; 0-13 years) o St Andrew's Youth Fellowship (SAYF; 12-18 years) o Young Adult Bible study (18-30 years) o Faith @ Home ministry for parents and families o One week of Vacation Bible School annually
  • Develop pastoral care relationships and ministries that flow from the above programs
  • Recruit, develop and train volunteers to support the ministries
  • Communicate regularly and appropriately with staff, volunteers, parents and the congregation

  • Experience and Qualifications

  • A living, growing faith in God, as revealed in the Bible through Jesus, and made known by the ongoing presence and power of the Holy Spirit
  • A willingness to learn and grow along with the other leaders in the church
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience with church based children/youth ministries
  • A post-secondary degree in one or more fields of family, children, or youth ministry, would be an asset
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Proficient skills on the computer and related technology
  • Leadership skills and ability to create a warm and united relationship with all staff
  • Strong biblical knowledge
