Overview

The Salesperson welcomes the customers by greeting them; offers assistance in finding what they are looking for; directs customers as required by escorting them and suggesting items; advises them by providing information on products; helps customer make selections by building customer confidence, offering suggestions and giving their opinion(s); closes the sale; documents the sale and processes payments. Since the retail industry is dependent on customer satisfaction, retail salespersons have to be able to handle all of their duties with competence and efficiency while remaining courteous and accommodating at all times.
