Overview

The Department of Language Studies at the University of Toronto Mississauga invites applications for a tenure-stream appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in one of the following fields with a specialization in French as a Second Language: Language Teaching and Learning, Applied Linguistics or Second Language Acquisition. The position start date is July 1, 2015. Applicants must have earned a PhD in any of the relevant fields mentioned above by the appointment date. The successful candidate must show evidence of excellence in research and in teaching French as a Second Language at the university level. Native or near-native proficiency in French (i.e., ability to teach in French at all levels of the undergraduate program) and a functional level of English proficiency are required. The successful applicant will teach in the French undergraduate programs and engage in the experiential learning activities offered in the Department. S/he will undertake graduate teaching and supervision, either as a member of the Graduate Department of French at the St. George campus, or the Graduate Department of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), of the University of Toronto. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
