Introduction
The Faculty of Law at the University of Alberta, located in Edmonton, is home to esteemed legal educators and scholars who pen numerous 'publications that impact both the policy and practice of law nationally and internationally.' Students who attend the Faculty will be provided with 'a strong foundational curriculum consisting of core courses with a wide range of specialties that encourage wider theoretical inquiries.' The Faculty also assumes a leadership role in the promotion of legal education for First Nations students such as through the Indigenous Law Program. The latter offers learners of First Nations’ lineage special admissions status and academic and financial support. The ultimate goal of these measures is to increase the presence of First Nations individuals in practicing law in Canada, a field in which they have been traditionally underrepresented.
