CMA Canada supports scholarships for business students CMA Canada (Saskatchewan) is supporting the dreams and futures of business administration students with a $100,000 gift to the University of Regina’s fundraising campaign. The organization’s generous gift supports the Faculty of Business Administration’s Excellence Program Scholarships.

"We are very proud of our long history of partnership with the University of Regina through the Faculty of Business Administration," says Betty Hoffart, chief executive officer of CMA Canada (Saskatchewan). "The bachelor of business administration program at the U of R was one of the first to be accredited by CMA Canada, and students from the program have been very successful in the CMA accreditation process."

The Excellence Program enables students with a high school average greater than 85 per cent to enter the Faculty of Business Administration directly as fully qualified students and receive a variety of benefits, including entrance scholarships. CMA Canada’s donation will help build an endowed fund to support these scholarships.

"At the University of Regina, we are focused on providing a top quality undergraduate experience for our students. CMA Canada’s donation to the Excellence Program supports this important goal," says University of Regina President and Vice-Chancellor Robert Hawkins. "These scholarships will also help us attract and retain the best and brightest students in Saskatchewan and beyond."

CMA Canada grants a professional designation in management accounting and regulates its members under the authorization of provincial legislation. A self-regulating body, CMA Canada maintains the highest standards, practices and professional conduct in management accounting to protect the public interest. The organization represents 37,000 Certified Management Accountants (CMAs), 10,000 students and candidates in Canada and around the world and more than 1,500 members in Saskatchewan.

Building Dreams and Futures is an ambitious campaign to raise $100 million for priority areas of the University of Regina, including student and research support, the Centre for Kinesiology, Health and Sport and emerging priorities such as the Technology Innovation Centre and the Aboriginal Student Centre. Funds are being raised from a variety of sources, including donations from individuals, corporations, and community organizations. Information on the campaign and how to make a contribution is available at 1-877-779-4723 or www.uregina.ca/campaign.
