Indigenous Peoples' Centre: November 2006 Calendar of Workshops and Information Sessions

BRANDON, MB – The Brandon University Indigenous Peoples' Centre, in conjunction with BU Student Services, will be offering the following workshops and information sessions during November 2006. Anyone interested is welcome to attend, and all sessions will be held in Indigenous Peoples' Centre (Room 103 George T. Richardson Centre) unless otherwise indicated.

November 13 – 10:40 a.m. Workshop: Memory Strategies Room 005 A.E. Mackenzie Building (lower level)

November 15: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. The Value of Ecucation A panel of Elders, leaders, graduate students and invited guests will discuss the importance of education. Panelists will include: Bruce Sarbit, Counselor, Student Services; Louise Lamont, Counselor, Student Services; Lorraine McKay, Coordinator, Indigenous Peoples' Services

November 17: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Graduate Students Initiative Presenter: Lorraine McKay, Coordinator, Indigenous Peoples' Services

November 20: 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Career Planning and Placement Location: Room 005 A.E. Mackenzie Building (lower level) Presenter: Doug Pople, Career Planning and Placement Officer

November 21: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Traditional Arts and Crafts Presenter: Lorraine McKay, Coordinator, Indigenous Peoples' Services

November 22: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Coping With Exam Stress Presenters: Bruce Sarbit, Counselor, Student Services; Louise Lamont, Counselor, Student Services

November 23: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Preparing for Graduate School Presenter: Lorraine Mayer, Assistant Professor, Native Studies

November 28 – 10:10 a.m. Workshop: Tips for Writing Final Exams Room 005 A.E. Mackenzie Building (lower level)

November 30 – 1:40 p.m. Workshop: Tips for Writing Final Exams Room 005 A.E. Mackenzie Building (lower level)
