Last year’s event was a huge success. As we are being challenged this year by the University of Waterloo, your help is needed and greatly appreciated.

Have fun and help the KW United Way campaign.

Laurier's United Way campaign begins on Monday, October 24.

Our first Early Bird Draw will be donations received by October 28. Bring your donations to the chilli cook-off.

Each year the Kitchener-Waterloo United Way reaches out to the community for help in supporting a wide variety of invaluable and necessary services that make the Waterloo Region a better place to live and Laurier is, once again, proud to be a generous supporter of their annual campaign.

Forty-five essential community agencies are supported by the United Way, including:

  • Big Sisters

  • Big Brothers

  • CNIB local services

  • Learning Disabilities Association

  • Working Centre programs for the unemployed

  • Red Cross homemaker and home healthcare services

  • Food Bank of Waterloo Region

  • K-W Multicultural Centre

  • Independent Living Centre

  • RAISE Home Support Service for the Elderly

  • St. John Ambulance

  • YWCA Mary’s Place residence for homeless women and their children.

  • And many others

All members of the Laurier community are encouraged to support these vital community services and help make this year’s campaign a success.

This year's goal has been set at $60,000. Special events and "early bird" draws will be posted on the Laurier Web site.

Canvassers will visit faculty and staff with pledge cards and information. A convenient way to donate is through payroll deduction. You may also donate with a cheque, cash, pre-authorized chequing, credit cards, and post-dated cheques.

Other members of the Laurier community who wish to donate should send their donation to Wally Pirker, Institutional Research, Wilfrid Laurier University.

Early Bird Draws: Prizes include Kitchener Ranger tickets, bookstore gift certificates, car cleaning and detailing certificates, sweatshirts, inter-varsity athletics seasons passes, and athletic centre memberships.
