Induction ceremony for new teachers

The latest group of education graduates at Memorial University will be officially inducted tomorrow afternoon.

Memorial President Dr. Axel Meisen and Kevin Foley, president of the Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers’ Association, along with Dr. Alice Collins, dean of education, will host an induction ceremony to welcome the new teachers. The ceremony will recognize their completion of their course requirements.

The event takes place Friday, Oct. 21, from 2-4 p.m. at the Bella Vista, 26 Torbay Road.

Media agencies are encouraged to send representatives.

Friday is Convocation Day at Memorial where hundreds of students will receive their degrees. Education students will receive their degrees during the 7:30 p.m. ceremony in St. John’s.
