Catherine Bush is the author of three critically acclaimed novels. In 2004, Claire’s Head was short-listed for the Trillium Award, and chosen as a Best Book of the Year by the Globe and Mail. The Rules of Engagement (2000) was a New York Times Notable Book and a Best Book of the Year as chosen by the Globe and Mail and the L.A. Times. It was also short-listed for the City of Toronto Book Award. Her first novel, Minus Time (1993), was short-listed for the 1994 Smith Books/Books in Canada First Novel Award and the City of Toronto Book Award. Born and raised in Toronto, Bush completed a degree in Comparative Literature at Yale University. After graduation, she lived in New York City for a number of years, and completed a fellowship at the Provincetown, Massachusetts Fine Arts Work Centre. Since then she has taught creative writing at a number of schools, including Concordia University, the University of Florida, and McMaster University. She is currently serving a term as Writer-in-Residence at the University of New Brunswick. Catherine Bush lives in Toronto.
