The prestigious US publication notes, "Fame is fleeting. But even if these men and women don't become household names in the next 75 years, what they're doing now will have lasting influence." Dr. Myers is cited for his work on the dynamics of fish species and for having provided startling evidence of the 90% population decline since 1950 in bluefin tuna, giant blue marlin, and other big fish. He is cited along side of US Senator Barack Obama, the founders of Google, and the front runner to become the next President of Egypt. He is the only Canadian on the list. "We're very proud of Dr. Myers," says Dalhousie President, Tom Traves. "This acknowledgement of his contribution to conservation research is very meaningful and reinforces what we already know - that Dr. Myers epitomizes the top quality faculty we have at Dalhousie."
