Finger Lakes Community College is based in the city of Canandaigua in New York State, USA. It was established in 1965 and first opened its doors to students in 1967. Currently, there are around 5,100 students enrolled at the college. Most students transfer to four-year universities after completing an Associate of Arts or Associate of Sciences Degree. Students who graduate with an Associate of Applied Sciences degree usually join the workforce.

The Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) Paralegal degree program at Finger Lakes Community College is built to prepare students for immediate employment. Students are trained in practical skills, knowledge and legal terms used in fields such as trust and estate law, real property law and family law. The college also offers honors courses that provide enhanced educational experiences to students with outstanding academic ability.

The program consists of general education courses, legal specialties, electives, office technologies and an internship. A student must complete a minimum of 68 credit hours with a grade point average of not less than 2.0 or a C to graduate. They must also have a minimum typing competency of 35 wpm.

The Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of College and School accredits Finger Lakes Community College. The Associates degree in Paralegal Studies is approved by the American Bar Association. Financial Aid is available and more than 75% of students apply for it every year.
