Greenville Technical College was established in 1962 and since then has been providing education which opens up career opportunities for students. It has the only University Transfer Honors program at a two-year college in South Carolina and the only two-year college which has built garden-style apartments where students can live. The college has four campuses, the main one being the Barton Campus at Greenville.

Under the Business and Public Service department, the college offers Paralegal Studies where you can earn an Associate in Public Service degree, a Business Transactions certificate and a Litigation certificate. The Paralegal Studies program is approved by the American Bar Association and is affiliated to the American Association for Paralegal Education and the South Carolina Upstate Paralegal Association. You can choose between day or night classes.

The program trains students to become proficient in legal research, evaluate critical analysis of facts and legal document drafting. The program schedule includes Introduction to Law and Ethics, Family Law, Torts and Claims Investigation. Graduates of the program will be able to assist lawyers in their legal duties such as preparing for trials, collecting and analyzing facts, conducting online legal research and interviewing witnesses.

Graduates of the Greenville Technical College paralegal program can transfer to a four-year college or can secure entry-level positions in organizations such as private law firms, insurance companies, financial institutions and government agencies. The program provides a perfect foundation for a paralegal career.
