The Utah Valley State College was established in 1941 in the state of Utah and currently caters to almost 20,000 students. Accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges, the college offers bachelor degree courses, associate degree programs, certificate programs and diplomas in a wide range of subjects including science, business and art. The School of Business at the Utah Valley State College offers a paralegal studies program for students looking to begin a career as a legal assistant or a paralegal. Students can opt for an AS or BS in paralegal studies, which are approved by the American Bar Association. A minor in paralegal studies is also available. The paralegal courses will teach students the ethics and responsibilities that go with working in a legal environment. Students will learn management skills and develop their communication skills as well. The courses will also focus on the basics of the functioning of the legal system and cover subjects such as dispute resolution and litigation.
