What is Art History?

Art History is the study of the historical, philosophical and theoretical approaches to visual art. This program is usually interdisciplinary in nature, and depending on the nature of the degree may include some creative work on the part of the student.

About Art History

Art history is of course closely related to both visual art and history programs, but also has ties to education, archaeology, anthropology, film studies, architecture, ethnology, women’s studies, political science, labour studies, communications and media studies, curatorial and museum studies, library science and multicultural studies.
