What services does your organization provide?
The Caring Society wants First Nations children to have the same chance to grow up safely at home, get a good education, be healthy, and proud of their cultures. We engage individuals and organizations in social justice for First Nations children, youth and families who live on reserves. The Caring Society also engages in research pertaining to First Nations communities and Indigenous peoples- both participating in and providing knowledge for others. The Caring Society has publications, a database, newsletter and journal.


Do you have any age requirements?
Everyone of all ages can make a difference. Please email us to find out more!


Do you require language proficiency other than in English?
We are a national organization that works in both English and French. It is not a required skill but an an asset.


What time commitment(s) are you expecting from a volunteer?
This is dependent on the volunteer's availability and schedule.


Are there any other requirements for being a volunteer?
All volunteers must come in for an interview and have a criminal record check for the vulnerable sector.


Are there any specific skills and experience required?
Because we are a staff of 4 and often have limited time to supervise, volunteers must be self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.


How will a person benefit from volunteering with First Nations Child and Family Caring Society of Canada?
They will learn about First Nations communities and be engaged in social change.
