Volunteer Information for Front Row Centre Players Society

What services does your organization provide?
Front Row Centre produces 3 major musicals in each year allowing opportunities for actors, singers and musicians to participate in this fantastic cultural activity. Ticket prices low as all roles are volunteer, meaning that this also presents an affordable opportunity for Calgarians to view musical theatre.

Do you have any age requirements?
No standard minimum age requirements, many roles are not appropriate for younger children to fill but we always consider everything on a case-by-case basis.
On-stage, there is no age minimum, but the requirements vary show-by-show.

Do you require language proficiency other than in English?
No.

What time commitment(s) are you expecting from a volunteer?
Varies depending on the role. Ushers can expect a single evening (in return for being able to see the show).
Cast/crew can expect 2-3 months of regular rehearsals, 3-4 times a week, 3-4 hours at a time. The actual requirements vary depending on the show.

Are there any specific skills and experience required?
Not to get started - we try to create mentorship opportunities whenever possible. Enthusiasm and a love for musical theatre are the only musts.

What type of volunteer positions are typically available?
To many to list, please see http://www.frontrowcentre.ca/volunteer

Is there any training provided for volunteers?
Yes when required, nothing formal is arranged, but mentorship and on-the-task training.

What are the typical volunteer activities occurring at your organization?
Shows are the major activity, we also have other events such as BBQs and galas that require volunteers.

How will a person benefit from volunteering with Front Row Centre Players Society?
Cultural enrichment is the greatest thing achieved by participating with Front Row Centre, as well as contributing to a great experience overall for everybody.

Do you accept high school students?
Yes.
